  13. BASEBALL FACTS is a comprehensive database program with which 
  14. you can examine the history of baseball since 1901. Career statistics 
  15. about Hall of Fame players are provided as well as awards and titles 
  16. such as: Most Valuable Players, Cy Young Award Winners, and Rookies 
  17. of the Year. Other menu options included are all-time career and all-time 
  18. season leaders, many statistical leaders (batting champs and pitching 
  19. champs), World Series Winners, World Series Most Valuable Players, 
  20. and Pennant Winners.

  22. BASEBALL FACTS is very easy to use. For each menu option a help 
  23. line displays a brief description of the appropriate action to take.

  26. USING THE MENUS

  28. The Bar Menu choices across the top of the display can be selected using 
  29. the left and right arrow keys, or by pressing the key of the highlighted 
  30. letter of the desired selection. (For example, if you'd like to look at "NL 
  31. Award Winners," use the left and right keys to highlight the topic or 
  32. simply press [N].) This will open up a Sub Menu.

  34. The Sub Menu choices can be selected by using the up and down arrow 
  35. keys and pressing [ENTER], or by pressing the key of the highlighted 
  36. number for the desired selection. (For example, if you'd like to look at 
  37. "Strikeout Leaders," use the down arrow key to highlight the topic and 
  38. press [ENTER], or simply type [8].)

  41. After you have selected an option from the Sub Menu, the facts found 
  42. will be displayed in a window which can be scrolled up or down with the 
  43. up and down arrows, [PgUp], [PgDn], [HOME] and [END] keys. To 
  44. return to the Main Menu, press [ESC].

  47. SEARCHES
  48.  
  49. By Year: In the "Search" Sub Menu, select "Search By Name" and press 
  50. [ENTER], or just press [1]. Type in a year from 1901 thru 1991 (4 digits 
  51. must be entered). All awards, titles, and Hall of Fame inductees for that 
  52. year will be displayed.

  54. By Name: To search for the statistics of a specific player, open the 
  55. "Search" Sub Menu by highlighting "Search" or by pressing [S]. Then 
  56. select "Search by Name" and press [ENTER], or simply press [2]. Type 
  57. the player's full last name and press [ENTER]. If that player has won any 
  58. awards or titles, or has been inducted into the Hall of Fame, his statistics 
  59. will be displayed. To look at another player, type [ESC].

  61. If you're not quite sure of the player's name or how to spell it, enter 
  62. fewer letters (3 letters minimum) and press [ENTER]. BASEBALL 
  63. FACTS will give you a list of every player with a name similar to the 
  64. one you typed.

  69. To get out of BASEBALL FACTS, select "Quit" from the Bar Menu or 
  70. type [Q]. Then press [1] or [ENTER] to return to DOS.
